Teeth cleaning for braces and brackets

Move the brush up and down gently and without applying too much pressure. For the gaps between your teeth, we also recommend cleaning with our interdental brushes. Rinse your mouth thoroughly. If you are unsure, you can also use a gentle mouthwash to rinse.
Nutrition with braces and brackets
Food generally plays an important role in the dental health. Especially if you wear braces or brackets, you should pay even more attention to your diet. The saying applies here: you are what you eat. Avoid sugar as much as possible. Sweetened drinks and sweets enriched with refined sugar increase the risk of tooth decay.
Remember that even small snacks such as chips or pretzel sticks are sugary and contain starch. Starch causes the food to stick to your teeth. Remember how this type of food also can attach to your braces or brackets. Also avoid crusts from bread and nuts. Hard foods like these can bend or even damage the bars, arches and bands of your braces and brackets.
Also avoid sticky sweets such as gummy bears, wine gums, toffees or liquorice. Not only are they very difficult to remove from your braces, but they also stick in the gaps between your teeth. This in turn can encourage the penetration of harmful germs and bacteria.
